Dean of the College of Islamic Sciences at the University of BaghdadProfessor Dr. Na’ma Dahsh Farhan, recently chaired two sub-ministerial committees. These committees wer convened to conduct a comprehensive evaluation of the academic and scholarly state of affairs within the College of Islamic Sciences and the College of Imam Al-Kadhim.

In a pursuit to ensure the continuous enhancement of academic and scholarly standards, the Dean, Professor Dr. Na’ma Dahsh Farhan, assumed the leadership role in overseeing two sub-ministerial committees. These committees embarked on a meticulous examination of key facets of academic life within the College of Islamic Sciences at the University of Baghdad and the College of Imam Al-Kadhim. The objective was to assess and refine various dimensions of the educational experience, from infrastructure to faculty alignment and student-to-faculty ratios.

The committees engaged in comprehensive discussions with the deans of the respective colleges, commencing with an assessment of the physical infrastructure. This entailed an evaluation of classrooms and laboratory facilities to ensure they meet modern educational standards. Subsequently, faculty composition and alignment with academic departments were scrutinized to guarantee expertise is effectively channeled to cater to the diverse educational needs of the students.

Of particular importance, the committees delved into the faculty-to-student ratio, a critical factor in maintaining the quality of education. Their aim was to verify that this ratio aligns with the established standards set forth by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

The comprehensive evaluation undertaken by the sub-ministerial committees will culminate in the submission of their findings and recommendations to the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in the forthcoming week. Furthermore, the Dean welcomed a ministerial committee, led by Professor Dr. Mohammed Shakir Abdullah Al-Kubaisi, that is charged with assessing the academic and scholarly status of the College of Islamic Sciences. During this interaction, the Dean showcased the college’s achievements and expressed appreciation for the Ministry’s dedicated oversight, ensuring that Islamic Sciences faculties across Iraqi universities remain aligned with contemporary technological advancements and incorporate modern educational materials.
