The College of Islamic Sciences at the University of Baghdad conducted the competitive exams for students applying for postgraduate studies, with the participation of 243 applicants for doctoral and master’s degrees in three departments. The scientific assistant to the Dean of the College, Dr. Muhanad Mohammed Saleh, stated today, Wednesday, that over 296 students took the qualifying competitive exams for postgraduate studies in three departments: Arabic language, Islamic theology, and Islamic Sharia. He also mentioned that the university’s plan for the College of Islamic Sciences this year included 72 seats, distributed between 36 seats for doctoral studies and 36 seats for master’s studies, in addition to extra seats outside the plan (privileges).

Dr. Saleh pointed out that the college made all the necessary preparations for the exams by forming several supervisory committees, assigning a select group of professors to prepare the exam questions according to the regulations and conditions set by the ministry and the university. The questions varied, were accurate, and covered intellectual topics. Additionally, specialized committees were formed to correct the answers.

In this regard, the scientific assistant to the President of the University of Baghdad, Prof. Dr. Marwan Abdul Hamid, accompanied by Dr. Mohammed Sadiq, the director of Ibn Sina Center, and the dean of the college, Prof. Dr. Naima Dahsh Farhan, inspected the progress of the competitive exams for postgraduate studies. Dr. Abdul Hamid ensured the provision of all necessary facilities and comfort for the students in the exam halls, with professors and invigilators present to resolve any issues that may arise during the exams. He also sought the students’ opinions on the distribution of the curriculum and questions within the allotted time for the exams, as well as their feedback on the compatibility and diversity of the curriculum elements to assess the level of understanding. He urged the students to have confidence in themselves, emphasizing that excellence is achieved through the ability to deduce, understand, and apply critical thinking
