As part of the “Piety to Parents” initiative, Dr. Shukriya Hammoud Abdul Wahid, a faculty member in the Department of Creed at the College of Islamic Sciences, University of Baghdad, visited the senior citizens’ home “And Be Kind to Parents” to deliver a doctrinal lecture for the residents.
This initiative was warmly welcomed by the management of the home. Ms. Sumaya Azab, the director of the home, received Dr. Abdul Wahid and praised this noble humanitarian endeavor.
The elderly residents responded very positively to the lecture, posing numerous questions on the topics discussed and expressing their gratitude and appreciation to the lecturer for her time and efforts.
This initiative is part of a series of activities and events organized by the College of Islamic Sciences to enhance community cohesion, promote religious and cultural awareness, and reinforce values of solidarity and mutual support among community members.
At the end of the lecture, Dr. Abdul Wahid presented symbolic gifts to the residents and took commemorative photos with them.
This initiative is a commendable example of voluntary work and reflects the Department of Creed’s commitment to caring for the elderly and providing them with psychological and moral support.
