The College of Islamic Sciences at the University of Baghdad recently discussed a thesis on the Quranic methodology in crisis management, focusing on Surah Al-Baqarah as a model. The study highlights the Quranic miracle in addressing crises, understanding the divine method, and promoting the well-being of humanity.
The thesis, titled “The Quranic Methodology in Crisis Management: Surah Al-Baqarah as a Model from Verse 222 to Verse 252,” was presented by a student (Mohammed Saad Mohammed) from the Department of Islamic Creed and Thought. The research underscores the significance of connecting crisis management to the Holy Quran and emphasizes the Quranic approach to crisis resolution. The study reveals that crises are a natural human condition affecting groups and individuals differently. The believing community stands out in its interpretation of crises and tribulations, demonstrating a unique approach to handling and overcoming challenges. The Quran prepares the believing community to lead and serve humanity through mercy and guidance. The thesis received approval from the examination committee, with Dr. Jassem Mohammed Harjan as the head and Dr. Ibrahim Abdul Salam as the supervisor. The discussion was attended by Professor Dr. Naima Dahsh Farhan, Dean of the College, and Dr. Arkan Raheem Jabr, the administrative assistant, to observe the scholarly discussion closely.
