The Women’s Affairs Unit at the College of Islamic Sciences, University of Baghdad, organized a workshop titled “Fragile Woman as Recommended by Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him)” to honor women and enhance their status in Islam. This workshop is in line with the teachings of the Quran and the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), both of which emphasize honoring and empowering women in society. The workshop was attended by many female students and faculty members.
The workshop, presented by both Dr. Raya Khalid Naji and Dr. Awad Qasim, aimed to explore the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) regarding the preservation and protection of women, emphasizing the importance of respecting and honoring women.
The workshop covered Quranic verses that honor women and the biography of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), highlighting instances that exemplify his respect for women. It also discussed the significance and symbolism of “the bottle,” as well as the Prophet’s teachings on safeguarding women and the ethical principles of interacting with women in Islam, along with the role of women in family and society.
The workshop emphasized that honoring and empowering women in Islam is a religious and moral obligation. “The glass” serves as a symbol of this cherished woman who must be preserved and cared for.
