The College Message:

College of Islamic Sciences at the University of Baghdad is a knowledge and research space that contributes to providing intellectual and cognitive services in an effort to raise the levels of contemporary Iraqi human and societal development.

Vision: A knowledge-leading college that competes globally in providing societal service.

Objectives: The College of Islamic Sciences seeks to prepare scientific and educational qualifications capable of building and reforming society through various contemporary scientific means and methods and that include:

  • Academic pursuit of advancement to achieve indicators of academic accreditation as an objective and an indicator of the quality of higher education.
  • Supporting creativity and research innovation in order to provide an effective community service.
  • Completing the infrastructure and buildings to provide classrooms with academic spaces in line with the course system approved by the government program.
  • The college participated with important scientific colleges through joint study and training the participants
  • Spreading the academic atmosphere, research and university life, to raise the levels of knowledge by contracting with state institutions and research centers to complete the reporting programs that students publish in the initial and higher studies
  • Activating applied scientific researches to serve the society and the national economy through the Financial and banking Transactions Department in our College.
  • Adopting scientific researches with applied spaces that contribute to providing the necessary infrastructure
  • Our college adopts the course system approved by the government program for the academic year 2018-2019.
  • Establishing a scientific environment according to comprehensive quality standards in the fields of education, research and qualification of specialists in the field of knowledge, both scientifically and intellectually, which allows them to be able to actively participate in the community and carry out an outstanding performance in the intellectual and practical domains.
  • Meeting the needs of society by preparing Elite teachers of linguistics and intellectual sciences.
  • Preparing researchers in Islamic studies to crystallize flexible Islamic thought, and to spread the values of tolerance and coexistence in society.
  • Enhancing intimacy, love, brotherhood and coexistence among the segments of the Iraqi people through curricula that enhance the participants in pursuit of achieving the goals,.
  • Encouraging the cognitive intuitions that assimilate the knowledge and possess skills of communications with the data of the era.
  • Developing the confidence of the recipient through a system of deep dealing with the information carefully selected according to the scientific and academic method
  • Achieving intellectual harmony among students of Islamic sciences by emphasizing common knowledge in a way that enhances the social and national fabrics
  • Breaking the deadlock and monotony in the means and methods of receiving, and taking knowledge.
  • Transfer Study from memorization and indoctrination to the application space in order to achieve greater benefit for the recipients.
  • Contributing into supplying the Iraqi culture and space of thought with conscious minds that contribute to drying up the sources of sedition and extremism by absorbing and comprehending the rich intellectual diversity by presenting scientific approaches that serve our contemporary Iraqi reality.
  • Promoting the curricula from its locality to the horizons of the world, so that the students master civilized dialogue and go to the horizons of coexistence based on the Almighty’s saying (“to get to know each other”) “to be enlightened by the words of the Commander of the believers Ali (peace be upon him).
  • Developing the educational process and encouraging research and self-learning for students to carry out their duties to the fullest.
  • Updating the educational programs and promoting scientific and educational rehabilitation of the students in order to develop and update cognition and application.
  • Keeping pace with the international developments in respect of what the college presents of leaflets , books and scientific programs in order to achieve internal efficiency.
  • The college’s contribution to providing the necessary competencies for the local community with postgraduates certificates in the human specializations
  • Developing and evaluating the new study plan for the bachelor’s stage in the college and evaluating it.
  • Introducing new programs at the Bachelor’s and Master’s levels and preparing projects for programs at the doctoral level.
  • Developing the work of the college members on modern electronic methods of teaching and communicating with the development in science at the world level.
  • Urging the College Board members to adopt modern methods by employing contemporary methods to get benefit from them in knowledge communication and interactive education with students.
  • Attracting Teaching Board Members of highly scientific qualifications for promoting the educational process.
