Islamic Philosophy
The Department of Islamic Philosophy
The vision:
The department adopts a project of redefining Islamic thought and constructing a scientific reasoning mind through openness to human philosophical output, reconstructing a philosophical knowledge system that bridges faith and science, relying on the accumulated knowledge throughout history to reach a contemporary philosophical-scientific faith-based vision.
The mission:
The department works towards realizing its vision by drawing guidance from the verses of the Holy Quran that invite contemplation and promote intellectual respect. It also seeks inspiration from the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and follows in the footsteps of the greatest Islamic philosophical mind, Imam Ali (peace be upon him), who entrusted his genius and works, rooted in the principles of the Quran, to the Nahj al-Balagha. The department blends these verses and evidence with the products of human reason, aligning them with the purposes of revelation and faith, in order to achieve the construction of a contemporary analytical philosophical faith-based intellect.
