About the Department of Islamic Educational and Psychological Sciences
Educational and psychological sciences are considered vital fields in any society, as they provide the community with specialists in education, psychological counseling, mental health, and educational psychology. Furthermore, they offer diverse services, including psychological, educational, and social consultations for all segments of society. These disciplines integrate educational and psychological specializations with an Islamic perspective, which focuses on building the individual and society from educational, psychological, and ethical standpoints. This approach works toward shaping behaviours that harmonize with the Divine Will, in accordance with the values of our true religion and the path of the Great Prophet (peace be upon him and his progeny) and his virtuous family and chosen companions.

Expanding the horizons of educational and psychological research through Islamic perspectives, and fostering scientific cooperation with Iraqi, regional, and international educational and psychological institutions, as well as actively integrating classroom learning with field-based practical experience

Preparing a generation that possesses educational and psychological awareness according to the Islamic approach, and is capable of providing expertise in the educational and psychological fields to Iraqi community institutions

- Serving the university by conducting training courses in teaching methodologies, thinking skills, university counseling, and Islamic psychological awareness.
- Serving the community by holding training courses and workshops, providing psychological, educational, and social consultations, and contributing actively to university and family counseling in accordance with the authentic Islamic approach.
- Participating in committees at the college, university, and community levels.
- Contributing to the development of scientific research within and beyond the university by conducting scientific studies in psychological, educational, and social fields, and standardizing psychological and educational tests.
- Participating in the development of curricula at the Ministry of Education and improving the performance of teachers and instructors by qualifying them both pedagogically and scientifically.
- Establishing the principles and foundations for personality building according to a noble Islamic approach.
