The College of Islamic Sciences at the University of Baghdad organized a workshop titled “Empowering Women in the Workplace.” The workshop, presented by Dr. Raghad Jamal Manaf, aimed to shed light on the importance of women’s roles in the workplace, enhance their participation in various fields, and remove obstacles hindering their empowerment.
The workshop addressed the role of women in Islam, with Manaf emphasizing that Islam honors women and grants them rights not present in any other civilization. She highlighted Islam’s call for women’s participation in various fields. The workshop also discussed the challenges facing Arab women in the workplace, such as gender discrimination, stereotypes, and limited job opportunities. Solutions for empowering women in the workplace were proposed, including education, awareness-raising, and removing obstacles hindering their participation in various fields.
Manaf concluded the workshop by emphasizing the need to empower Arab women through education and awareness-raising about their role in Islam, dispelling stereotypical images of Arab women, and working to remove obstacles hindering women’s participation in various fields, such as gender discrimination and limited job opportunities. She also recommended supporting initiatives aimed at empowering women in the workplace, such as training and qualification programs.
This workshop marks an important step towards empowering Arab women in the workplace, emphasizing their crucial role in building and advancing society.
