The Department of Finance and Banking at the College of Islamic Sciences, University of Baghdad, conducted a lecture titled ‘Entrepreneurship’ as part of its curriculum for the Global Entrepreneurship Week. The lecture took place in the classrooms within the department.
The aim of the workshop, presented by Dr. Sanaa Alawi Abdul Sada, Dr. Hanaa Mohammed Hussein, Riam Qasim Mohammed, and Shurooq Kamel Ismail, was to establish a connection between entrepreneurship and small projects in the job market, recognizing them as an advanced field for enhancing skills, competencies, productivity, and marketing.
Entrepreneurship plays a significant and prominent role in developing ideas for these projects, enhancing their capabilities to become successful business ventures with sustainability, continuity, and evolution.
The workshop covered several tips to assist students in defining their goals and how to conduct a feasibility study for their future projects. Additionally, it highlighted the outcomes of the Department of Finance and Banking for students, including the employment of undergraduate students as teachers in schools and employees in financial institutions and Islamic banks. The workshop also focused on outlining future plans for students, with presenters providing numerous real-life examples to make perspectives more relatable for the students.
