The College of Islamic Sciences at the University of Baghdad organized a book signing ceremony for the book “Islamic Psychology.” The book was authored byProfessor Dr. Naima Dahsh Farhan, the dean of the College of Islamic Sciences, and Dr. Alaa Abdul Khaliq Al-Mandlawi, a faculty member in the Arabic Language Department, as part of its program for the Global Entrepreneurship Week.The ceremony, held in the Al-Bait Hall at the College of Islamic Sciences, was attended by the dean’s assistants, department heads, college staff, and students, amid notable and distinguished media coverage.Farhan said in his speech that the 232-page bookcovers Islamic psychology, sociology in Islam, mental health, various psychological disorders, their treatment, and prevention. The book also delves into the historical roots of Islamic psychology and its components.He added that the book consists of five main chapters. The first chapter is titled “The Theoretical Foundations of Islamic Psychology,” covering the concept and purpose f Islamic psychology. The second chapter, “Islamic Thought and Its Relationship to Psychology,” sheds light on Islamic thought’s nature and its importance in understanding humanity. It also explores the study of values and ethics in Islamic thought and their impact on human behavior. The third chapter focuses on psychological disorders and their treatment in Islamic psychology, emphasizing the diagnosis of psychological disorders in Islam and how to deal with them.The fourth chapter focused on the discussion of social psychology in Islam and its vital impact on solving social problems. It also delved into social relationships in Islam and their influence on the psyche. The fifth chapter highlighted the applications of Islamic psychology in various fields. It began by examining the impact of Islamic psychology in the workplace, addressing how it can enhance the work environment, boost productivity, and improve employee well-being.
