The Continuing Education Unit at the College of Islamic Sciences, in collaboration with the Department of Arabic Language, organized a course on “Mind Mapping in Arabic Language and its Impact on Reinforcing Linguistic Rules” in the Scholars Hall.
The objective of the course, which was conducted by Professor Dr. Salman Abbas Abd and Dr. Mahmoud Ahmed Shakir, was to familiarize trainees with the strategies of mind mapping that have a significant impact on students’ acquisition of various language skills and their comprehension. The mind mapping technique aids memory and addresses students’ academic weaknesses in the subject of Arabic grammar.
Abd highlighted that mind mapping enhances and stimulates thinking with the aim of comprehending the Arabic language subject and presenting it in the form of mind maps. The importance of mind mapping lies in its simplicity, effectiveness, and how its benefits are evident in every application.
Shakir spoke about the importance of mind mapping and stated, “One of the most modern approaches is the method of mind maps, which allows students to learn through play and fun. It helps them gain a comprehensive understanding of a complex subject and facilitates creative learning methods that aid in problem-solving. It also significantly enhances focus during the learning process. The pioneer of this method was Tony Buzan.
