[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The College of Islamic Sciences at the University of Baghdad celebrated National Tree Planting Day, observed on the twelfth of March each year, with a scientific lecture titled “Encouragement of Agriculture and Planting in Islamic Teachings through the Quran and Sunnah”.
\nDr. Ammar Al-Khatib, a faculty member in the Department of Creed, delivered the lecture, highlighting the importance of agriculture and planting in Islam. He cited verses from the Quran and Hadiths of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) that encourage such practices.
\nDr. Ammar Al-Khatib emphasized that agriculture and planting are among the righteous deeds that bring one closer to Allah, revive and beautify the earth, and provide sustenance for both humans and animals.
\nHe emphasized the necessity of instilling in the youth a love for agriculture and planting, as well as embedding environmental values in their hearts, so they may contribute to building a green and clean society.
\nAt the conclusion of the lecture, Dr. Al-Khatib engaged with the audience, addressing some questions related to the topic of agriculture and planting in Islam.
\nThe attendees praised the role of Professor Dr. Na’ma Dahsh Farhan, the Dean of the College of Islamic Sciences, for organizing this valuable lecture and for his support of the scientific and cultural activities conducted by the college.
\nThey affirmed that this lecture contributes to raising awareness about the importance of agriculture and planting in Islam and encourages students to participate in environmental activities. The lecture delivered by the College of Islamic Sciences on the encouragement of agriculture and planting in Islam through the Quran and Sunnah is seen as a positive step towards spreading awareness about the significance of agriculture and the environment in Islam and promoting a culture of tree planting among members of society.[\/vc_column_text]
