[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Professor Dr. Yassin Hussein Alwan Al-Waisi, a faculty member in the Department of Islamic Philosophy at the College of Islamic Sciences, University of Baghdad, has published a book titled “Tasbeeh Burda Al-Madeeh by Al-Busiri: A Study of Al-Kawakib Al-Duriyah Fi Madh Kheir Al-Bariyyah by the Turkish poet Niyazi Al-Misri.” (1105-1694)AH
\nThe subject that the study attempts to delve into is the poems of praise for the life of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), which have continued until today. They are part of Sufi Arabic literature, as the poems of praise for the Prophet are a part of the arts of poetry that Sufism has spread. They represent a form of expression of religious emotions and are a door of the elevated literature, because they only emanate from hearts full of sincerity and devotion. When we have confined these poems to expressing religious emotions, they have distinguished themselves from the general praise poetry that is spoken in honor of ordinary people.
\nThe book, titled “Tasbeeh Burda Al-Madeeh by Al-Busiri,” consists of two main sections. The first section is a study focusing on the tasbeeh (elaboration) of the poem by Al-Busiri, written by the Turkish poet Niyazi Al-Misri in 1105 AH. The first chapter of this section is titled “The Art of Praise Poetry, Al-Budaiyah, Al-Burda, and Literature About It.” The second chapter is titled “The Author’s Era and Description of His Manuscripts,” shedding light on the author’s life, works, manuscripts, students, and companions. The second section is a critical edition of the poem “Tasbeeh Al-Burda.”[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column]
